It’s hard being a rock star.
Aoi knew that perfectly well. They had an image to sustain, fans to please, and a record company not to mess with. Ironic how they are being viewed as people who partied hard, drank lots, and got sex all the time. While they did party hard when time permits and get piss drunk when not busy, the truth is that all of them are just poor, twenty-something kids confined within the four walls of a recording studio, working their asses off day in and day out to make music that, honestly, just sounds so repetitive as of late.
Thoughts like so weren’t so unlikely to cross Aoi’s head when his mind was being drained empty, tired from trying to come up with melodies for yet another single. He asked himself why he even had to do that when they’re about to release a new album anyway, but then again, he knew the answer to that, even if he didn’t know how to word it. Letting out an exasperated sigh, he looked up to see what the others had done so far. The first person that came into view was the other guitarist.
Uruha wasn’t the same from them, he mused. Even though he worked hard (whenever he wanted to, that is), Uruha had always been much more laid back than the rest, to the point that either Ruki or Kai would yell at him because it always seemed like he never ‘took work seriously.’ It was amazing how so far, he hasn’t gotten himself into any kind of trouble – he wasn’t restricted by their label’s rules, he wasn’t scared of Kai or Ruki, and he indulged in his caprice so much there were times he had to compromise work for it.
is how a rock star should be.
Aoi watched as the other man bent down on the floor to scribble something on the paper by his feet, then go back to his position again. Uruha had a rather apathetic expression on his face as he continued doing those things, and Aoi was sure the younger man wanted to go home rather than practice here idly when there’s really nothing to practice for.
But when Uruha started to hit the guitar and play a song foreign to his ears, Aoi had to swallow. It was hard not to be mesmerized as the younger threw his head back, letting his fingers tread along the strings, droplets of sweat starting to form on his forehead as he thrashed around a bit. Even from that distance Aoi could feel the intensity, the passion that Uruha showed with each flick of his wrist, and the tightness in his chest intensified when the younger threw him a knowing smile.
Aoi needed to tear his gaze away, otherwise the bassist beside him would notice how long he’d been gawking at Uruha, and that would not spell anything good for him. With that, the older guitarist cradled his guitar and tapped it a bit, careful as he stole glances from Uruha. He sighed again.
It was hard falling in love with a rock star, too.A/N:
